A fellow machine knitter recently suggested putting a drop of oil on the thumb screws that are used to attach the sinker plate to the carriage on your knitting machine. It makes it so much easier to fasten and unfasten. Thanks for the tip, Ann!

If your machine is set on a smooth surface, you may have trouble keeping it in place. These handy and inexpensive rubber furniture cups solved the problem for me. Even though this machine stand has rubber caps, the extra grip really helps.
