Recommended Reading – Fabulous Fairisle

Do you LOVE color work? Our machines make it so much easier to create fabulous fairisle stitch patterns.

The book “Fabulous Fairisle” by John Allen is a treat for both hand and machine knitters.  It includes an interesting history of this style of knitting as well as sweater pattern ideas.

But the beauty of this book is in the full color photography and large, clear stitch charts. You will spend many a relaxing afternoon with a cup of tea and this beautiful book.  Look closely at the stitch designs for inspiration.  Study the chosen colorways in the Colourings chapter.  Get inspired by every page!

Although this book is out of print, copies are available at reasonable prices.  I recommend you treat yourself to some colorwork eye-candy!

This book is what I call my dream book. When I am short on knitting time, love to browse this book. Get my knitting dreams pumped up for the next project maybe. Highly recommend this book.

This book is out of print. Occasionally one will come available on eBay or Amazon.

It’s one to look out for in yard sales and used bookstores … worth every penny!
